Can they be cleaned/salvaged? Both our car seats were in the trunk of my husband's car and we discovered too late that he has a leak. Now both car seats are covered in mold - do I need to buy new or can they be saved?

Sorry if this is asking the obvious but have they got removable covers? (Mine has)
If the covers are removable I would put them through a hot wash on the machine. My covers say hand wash in cold water but I ran them through a hot cycle and they came out perfectly.

the covers are removable. but the ones on the bigger car seat are padded as well. And I would have to remove the straps too. we are talking about a lot of mold. The last time I put something with mold in the washing mashine, the mold stayed so I didn't think that would work.
