Anyone reading the new serial in Hamodia? Could you believe it opened with a frum guy drunk driving?

Lol I'm well aware. I was surprised that the story started with a bang- usually there are opening chapters that spend time introducing all the characters. I liked jumping right into this one, I really like her writing.

literally a bang. I like that the action came first then the character development. when done well, it gives you a glimpse into why whatever happened, happened.

I am loving it! I admit that I was shocked the first chapter began with such a bang. It was a little too much for me but I'll also say that it's the first novel that had me hooked from chapter 1

I wish the chapters were longer though. It's just a tease and then have to wait a whole week.
I hope the part about the kid in the hospital isn't too sad, though.

I am surprised the Hamodia havent withdrawn that first chapter......there are people who dont believe this sort of thing happens in the frum world...and I just wonder how many complaints Hamodia have had.
Disclaimer: I am not one of those who are naive about drink, drugs etc, I am just saying.
