So today I saw a drain fly near the aquarium. Will cleaning the filter get rid of them? Where are they breeding?

No...they're sort of triangular shaped, and really slow fliers, and much bigger than fruit flies. You can Google pics...

No because I can't do it on my own. And the official Water Bucket Shlepper doesn't agree it's an emergency. Smile

are these the same flies that live in moist soil, aka your houseplants?
and breed like crazy, making your only option banishing the plant from the house so as not to eat flies with your food by mistake?

in that case, please check your plants.

Don't think so...had that problem once too. These don't fly so much. They just hang out on the walls lookin' pretty. They usually come from clogged drains. I cleaned the filter and didn't see any more today BH. Full tank cleaning will wait for Sunday. Smile
