ok last night I made a huge pot of soup.
there was no room in the fridge so I took it to the spare fridge.
I FORGOT TO TURN IT ON....
ok this was at about 10:30 or maybe it was 11:30 at night
now, its 4:23 the next day (shabbos comes in late in oz at this time of year)
and I just discovered my pot of soup.
it feels warm still, it hasn't fully cooled down.

my mother says if it didn't finish cooling down then its ok, but its not hot its only warm.
now if I had asked my mother in law she would probably tell me to chuck it out, but I didn't ask her and I'm not gonna ask her.
so what do you people say? will I poison my family ch"v if I feed it to them?

(keep in mind the weather is hot here)

Well if you don't know now - you will surely know when they are all vomitting - but I would be reluctant to throw out too - definately smell, taste - if even slightly odd you will know.

I made chicken for dinner on wednesday night, DH forgot to put away the leftovers and it sat in the oven all night. I discovered the mistake in the morning, put it back in the fridge and we ate it for dinner last night. We're both feeling fine!

(It actually tasted better the second time around!)

I've twice left a full pot of chicken soup out all Friday night..
DH and I both thought that the other had put it away-and had to toss it.

so I'm glad to know I'm not the only forgetful freak!!
You're in good company:)

I think it will be OK if you bring it to a boil again for a while. But if you are nervous then there is always the "better safe then sorry" philosophy.

What was the temperature in the room you left it? Is it a warm room? Or more of a room temperature room?

I forgot to do that too. Scratching Head

it was chicken soup by the way, and my house is hot due to a long hot week

My grandmother cooked for weeks in advance of a home-made sheva brochos and stored it in my aunts freezer… and then my aunt was renovating and the electrician turned off the freezer…….. they only discovered it when the place smelled like a morgue.
