ra mom - you are always amazing. What's your recipe for couscous salad and what's a potato knish kugel?
debs
Probably this, but roasting cubed zucchini, yellow squash and cherry potatoes, and using Israeli couscous.
http://www.joyofkosher.com/rec.....alad/

Yum- sounds like a delicious recipe! Can you just explain a little more for me- Here's what I'm assuming, tell me where I'm wrong!

Prepare the couscous (pearled- right?) according to the box.
Roast cubed zuchinni, cubed yellow squash, cherry tomatoes (halved?)in the oven- I assume with olive oil and spices.
Mix couscous and veggies together and add the dressing from the joyofkosher recipe- balsamic/mustard/garlic dressing.

Would you put the dressing on when everything is till warm or wait for it to cool? Also, do you think this can be frozen? If so, how would you defrost?

Oh, and one more question- would you warm this up to serve or just serve at room temp?

Sorry I'm so full of questions!

Thanks Smile

many people have a seuda, or even two, on hoshana raba. we usually go to our cousins for the second seuda, and my husband makes eggs, and cheese, and sometimes salmon, for the first seuda.

the ramen noodle salad is

lettuce
sunflower seeds
broken up ramen noodles

3/4 c sugar
3/4 c oil
1/3 c vinegar
2 tspn. soy sauce
spice packet from ramen noodles

the wonton salad is the wontons from KBD
and there was a salad in one of the magazines
I use the dressing from there
don't have exact measurements now

I think it's apricot jam, honey, teriyaki sauce, and can't remember what else
it was posted on here before but I don't know how to find these things

I see a lot of people here are making cholent for Shabbos - does that mean you're leaving your crock pot on for 3 days??? I was nervous to do that for the first days, but cholent is so easy to make I'm thinking about making it for the second days.
