A bissele.
My dad's first language, but I wasn't really taught seriously, just "like that". I understand more than I speak, and don't talk about reading/writing!!

I studied it seriously for two years, but for some reason it just didn't click so well. I guess I'm at an elementary level.

Yiddish is difficult, if you don't know German.

Zeyer a zach!
Was my first language, I speak, read and write it fluently, and speak it exclusively with my kids.

when I was little in CH I was in a yiddish class at Beis Rivkah and since my mother speaks an amazing yiddish I did too, then we moved and my new school did not have a yiddish class so I lost most of it. I understand almost everything though. You know whats realy funny, where I live now people are always translating for me. Its so funny they "accidentaly" slip a yiddish word then translate it for me, it doesnt happen with everyone but it has happened a lot. Ive had lets see, nachas, kinder, words that everyone knows weather you speak yiddish or not translated for me

Ambassador I think I had the same yiddish class iN beis Rivkah (Morah Neiman).
It's my mothers first language, Hebrew her second and English her third but since my father only speaks English I never got the benefit of another language, but my DH speaks yiddish so that makes up for it.
