So... I have this gigantic wood and silver (with glass on top) challah board I got as a wedding gift a couple years back.
....the silver underneath is somehow getting corroded and rusty, and the glass top got chipped in one corner, and it's also not efficient for cutting challah on...
.it's also too big for our Shabbos table, which is on the small side.
I'm interested in getting an all-wood challah board, the type that has two separate pieces-one slotted, and a crumb-catching base.
I've seen some with engraved images of Jerusalem or the words Shabbos kodesh...
Anyone have what I am talking about?
oh, and I dont live in or near NY, so if you know of a good website that carries it, bring it on!!!

We have one, but we don't use it. We got two challah boards as wedding gifts, so we're still using the glass/silver/wood type for now.

I have friends that have that challah board - they seem to be happy with it.
I like it a lot, if I had a choice, that's the type I'd pick out.

yeah, the all wood type seems so much more functional. Who wants to slice challa on glass? (screeeeechh...)

We got one as a wedding present, and a year later, it was totally ruined. To be fair, we did wash it with water every week which is what did it in, I think!
But just wanted to let you know...

I had a large cutting board I loved-I think it was acacia wood?-and after several months of use, it split in half!!
I think I was supposed to keep it 'moisturized' with oil every so often but never did...
But I wouldnt wash a challa board, it doesnt need water to be kept clean.
