OMG! A household/cooking thing that I actually know something about! An open miracle!

If the meat was truly smoked (not just smoke-flavored), then it's for sure good. Smoked meat lasts almost forever -- in fact, that's why they took smoked meat on ships in the old days; even without refrigeration, it wouldn't go bad for weeks or even months. I have a backyard smoker, and my family jokes that a chicken could meet its einechlach in our 'frig!

However, a lot of cold cuts either aren't really smoked or are only partially smoked. If that's the case, you probably need to be more cautious.

Okay, that's my household management contribution for the year. LOL
