Lag B'Omer is on Sunday this year and that means A BIG PARADE! Are your kids schools going? Or are you taking your kids?

Quote:
Organizers of this year's Lag Baomer parade are reporting a flurry of activity and interest as Lag B'Omer draws near. Preparations for one of the greatest Lag B'Omer parades in history are well under way. The theme of the parade is called "On Giant's Shoulders." Parade coordinator Yaakov Behrman describes it as a window into the mesirus nefesh throughout the ages and how it leads to our job of bringing Moshiach.

The central parade will pass by 770, in the grand tradition of a Sunday Lag B’Omer. The parade will be composed of all the classic favorites including marching bands, military parades as well as the stars of the show "The Jewish children, the boys and the girls, Bnei Avraham Yitzchok and Yaakov."

Yeshivah Bochurim all across the Tri-State area are beginning to devote their off seder hours to planning and building giant floats showcasing select scenes depicting how Yidden throughout the ages contributed to our mission of bringing of Moshiach. "We are working our hardest to make this the greatest parade ever," says Mendy Weg Program coordinator.

For the first time ever the parade will feature the innovation of a stunt show - the world famous Ives Family Motorcycle Stunt Show whose dared-devil performers take their wheels over thirty feet in the air. Rabbi Sholom Ber Baumgarten explains: "We want insure that the parade really turns out to be the greatest event ever."

A chief attraction in this year's fair will be an exotic petting zoo and thrilling giant rides. The menu will include carnival favorites such as hot-dogs, cotton-candy and much more.

Menachem Lipsker Project coordinator reports a record level of cooperation between the Bochurim, Tzivos Hashem, NCFJE and other organization working together to create the best possible parade.

Shluchim and Mechanchim are encouraged to ensure the children in their charge be able to participate in this special event by calling (718) 735-0200 or emailing lagbomer67@gmail.com

This brings back sweet memories of the parade we went to years ago. I can still taste the ices and cotton candy and picture the pekela with a dime in it from the Rebbe ztz"l.

I'd love to take my kids - but wouldn't you know, we have an upsherin then. Maybe for the fair after.......
