We are iy"h probably going to be moving to Passaic. I have questions, so please help!

Where would we look to find apt's for rent?

The low down on Hillel vs Yeshiva Ketana.

What are the names of the neighborhoods with a generalization of types and info on each neighborhood.

Being Lubavitchers, we contacted the Lub rabbi there and he gave us a tour, told us approx prices of renting an apt v. buying a house, and showed us the school, shuls, the bus stop and the Kosher shopping.

you can look at www.luach.com in the passaic region for apartments for rent. Most available apartments are posted there.
If you can "classify" yourself it would be easier to answer your questions - ex: yeshivish, lubavitch, modern etc.

I am another amother who moved to passaic a few years ago and am thrilled here. It is a wonderful, pashut, frum, community!

I would definetly check out luach for listings of apartments. You can also check in the pizza store or Kosher store (Kosher Konnection) because a alot of times people post ads there.

As for schools there are actually 3 choices - Yeshiva Ketana, YBH-Hillel, and the Cheder (Which began this year and is run by Rabbi Mandel).
One thing that I would tell you is that Hillel is a very different school in the younger grades and the older grades - kind of reflecting the changing demographics of the community so that the older grades are a bit more "modern orthodox", while the younger grades/early childhood are more "modern yeshivish" (I hate labels). I don't have any kids in YK so I can't give you much info on it.

Best of luck...hope to welcome you here soon

I think it is something related to CM's signature (and CH) and has nothing to do with Passaic, but I agree that it is confusing, and gives one a negative view of passaic for no reason - perhaps the OP's would consider removing their posts to remove any confusion.
