Hi, are there any child life specialists out there? I'd like to know if it is a good thing consider as a field. Do you like the field? Is it worth it to go into social work and then do this with the degree? Is it too hard to find a job? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It's a rewarding field. However, funding has forced many hospitals/clinics/ped nursing homes to cut their child life programs. The pay isn't great. Social work has many more opportunities and potential for better income.

Hard to find a job with convenient hours for a mother, most are full time, start early and/or include weekends.

I looked into this once and all the forums wrote about limited growth, few jobs, low pay, etc etc
