I got the recipe on imamother of course
paprika wrote: | Rainbow Cake
4 whole eggs, beat well
3/4 cup sugar
1 scoop vanilla sugar
1/2 c. oil
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup flour
2 Tbsp. almond extract
This is for 1 cookie sheet. Make it 3 times. In one, put a drop of green food coloring, in one, put a drop of red food coloring, and the third one leave as is, no food coloring.
Bake each layer on 350 for 15 minutes with parchment paper on cookie sheet.
Freeze till firm with paper.
Assemble with seedless raspberry jam very thin. (Gefen makes this type of jam.)
Chocolate
1 lb. baking chocolate
1 stick margarine
Spread on top and bottom and comb with zig zag design comb. |
Instructions indicate to layer the cake with jam but my kids aren't such jam fans. Any other ideas what to use in between the layers?
Thanks.

I never made it, but maybe chocolate icing would work. I don't have a recipe off hand , but something with powdered sugar, cocoa powder, a bit of oil and a bit of liquid.

I made a rainbow cake for my daughter for her birthday! I made buttercream (parve instead of with real butter) and put that in the middle as well as on the top and sides.

And this was not the cake I made, I made a round one. It was two white cake recipes, divided into 6 round pans.
