I think 20 is an important birthday. I like practical gifts, I think I'm going to buy her a scarf set. What do young girls wear? Where I live we don't really have winter.

Why not ask your son what his wife would like, or maybe even your DIL directly? Even though I'm not close w my MIL , she knows I like to cook & bake so she generally buys me a gift in that area. It's so much more meaningful to me bec it means she thought about what I would like.
