There are 2 factions in Satmar, named for the 2 dueling brothers. One is called Aroni (for Rav Aharon), the other Zaloni (for Rav Zalman).

Lol. I've never referred to myself or our institutions as such. It sounds so disrespectful.

But everyone in williamsburg calls the two sides aroinim and zalonim. I agree it sounds disrespectful, but that's what they all call themselves, except of course you.

now I get it. so you mean that they each have their own mikva and somebody from one group cnt use the mikva belonging to the other group??! nebach. what a mess. I hope it isnt quite as bad as this makes it sound. please tell me isnt so bad...

Omg no way!!!

The mikvaos are both open for all Jewish women. I heard that the rebbe was adamant that no one should be made to feel unwelcome, even women who kept halacha differently (like nails and hair chumros.)

OP may not even be Satmar. There used to be two mikvaos in Williamsburg. Now finally there's a third one. No one is complaining. People use the one that's most convenient.

Mikvas r all open, the question is how late it stays open, I was there last year, I made sure to call and ask them till when, they all have family to spend the day with so we all havta be considerate.
