1/4 c sugar
1/4 c red wine vinegar
1/4 c honey
1/4 c warm water
1/2 t black pepper
(1/2 t ground mustard)
1/2 c (canola) oil
6-8 tbsp sugar
2 c delivered almonds
1 lb mixed salad greens
1 c sprouts
8 oz strawberries, cut into chunks
2 handful pine nuts
1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
Shake or whisk dressing ingredients.
Heat nonstick pan over med and add sugar and almonds, stir constantly until sugar melts and coats almonds making sure sugar doesn't burn. Remove from heat and lay out on sheet of foil breaking up any large clumps. May be stored in airtight container.
In large bowl combine greens, sprouts, strawberries, pine nuts, red onion. Lightly coat with dressing. Make sure some strawberries remain on top. Sprinkle with sugared almonds.
