I'm having ppl over for the SS meal on Shabbos and want to make something really nice but that you can serve cold. Any ideas? interesting and tasty foods that look fancy.

Curly coloured pasta with tuna, mayonaise and pickles and corn .
Its a wholesome salad that is always popular in summer and filling too.
Mini trifles are also refreshing for dessert.

I had a salad at a lechayim the other day that was out of this world. It was made in a trifle dish and was layers of corn, frozen peas, shredded carrots, shredded cabbage (and I guess anything else that layers well that you would eat.) The dressing was mayo, water, apple cider vinegar and sugar. I am trying to get the exact amounts and when I do I will post. It was delicous and tasted great!

Wonder, are you having guests? Otherwise, I'm loathe to make food just for that meal. There's so much regular cooking for Shabbos otherwise!

I made a Shalosh Seudos meal to celebrate my son's upsherenish which took place a few days earlier . I served a really good fish salad, made from shredded flounder fillets, and topped or mixed with a special sauteed tomato and vegetable sauce. The recipe is in the Spice and Spirit cookbook.

Wonder, what about leaving the blech on and doing deli rolls? or meatloaf? if they are guests, aren't you going to "do it up"?

Hi everyone, thanks for all the suggestions, keep them coming...
How do you make deli rolls and will they last on the blech for so long?

Hamodia magazine from Parshah Shelach week had a recipe for Elegant Tuna-Vegetable Roll that looked really good on the picture. ֡If you want the recipe let me know.

Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions!
Helani thank you, I looked up the recipe in the Hamodia and made the tuna roll, it came out delicious.
At the end this was my menu...
Sushi, lots of it, interesting salads, and a noodle dish with peanuts and peanut sauce, tuna roll, and then once we finished everyone made their own sushi, so it was tasty and fun Smile
