I think you do need to be pretty yeshivish though.

IS your dd preschool or elementary?

I think penina is the old prospect park day camp, just with new name and new location.

DD is in elementary.

DD brought home a flier from school for Camp Penina. I called about it. My understanding was that the director used to be at Prospect but started this new camp. She wants a Bais Yaakov crowd and sent fliers home through more yeshivish schools.

I decided to send my preschool son there and had to talk to her (the director) about a few things, and she really is a very sweet person. (Someone had told me she had a reputation for being kind, but I can vouch for it first hand.)

I was planning to send to another camp and switched, and she offered to deduct the deposit I lost from our fee. Not saying she'll do that for everything, just saying that was a very nice thing to do. Just one example. Smile

Indigo amother, I'm amused by your earlier posts Wink

I had a very good impression of Camp Penina too, from speaking with the director, but it's expensive.
Thanks, Ashrei! Hug I'm amused by my posts too Tongue Out

Thank you all!! Smile Very Happy

We're totally not chassidish, and my kids don't know a word of Yiddish. Would Azamra be off the mark? Is the camp well organized? What kind of activities/trips do they have?

Are your kids into talents...like art, dancing-ballet, singing with Malky Giniger? Then Palgai is a super choice.
I'm sending my girls to nesivos...many chassidish girls there.

I just read Azamra's tznius letter. Is it true that grades 1-7 have to wear tights all summer?

Are you the op?
it is a very very to the right school/camp. That's why a lot of chassidim send there. and the litvish who send are very very yeshivish/frum. Lots of these kids families hold that they have to wear tights anyways the whole summer.

Yes, I'm the OP. We're pretty yeshivish and send to a very yeshivish school, which doesn't require the kids to encase their legs in sweaty nylon tights under their long skirts when it's hot outside. Knee socks are good enough for them.
I'm reconsidering.
