Hey! I'm switching my hours next year and need some advice on how much of a raise to ask for-I have worked in my current school for 6 years, been getting paid $25 hr (16,000) for teaching kindergarten in Brooklyn without a degree. I will be adding more hours this year-is it unreasonable tk ask for $30?

definately! it seems like your are getting paid almost nothing~
In queens where I live assistants in bnos malka (I no because my sister works there-just to give you an example) makes around that, maybe even a little more!
how can they justify paying you so little to work full time

Is there something wrong with my mathb $25/hour for a full time teaching job (8-4) is really good money. How are you paid $25/hour and come up with $16000?
Btw I currently am paid $21000 to work 8-4, as the lead teacher in a 3 year old room at a school that goes from 2 years old through 8th grade.

Are there any Brooklyn based preschool/kindergarten/pre1a teachers here that would be comfortable sharing the hours they work and the pay they receive? Appreciating all your help!!!!
