Big brother is watching you/us. I got an e-mail this morning from AliBaba - the Chinese e-mercandiser about 100% human hair wigs that I showed interest in.
I've never searched AliBaba for human hair wigs - I only read about them recently, here on Imamother! How did they get that information?
Yael, any ideas?

''Did you click on any of the links posted in that sheitel thread?''
I don't think so. I'm not interested in buying a shaitel now, so I don't think I would have clicked any of the links. All I did, was to read the thread.
I just saw a documentary about Edward Snowden the whistle-blower who exposed the mass information gathering of the NSA. OK, that's the government committing an infuriating, frightening invasion of privacy but it seems we now have to assume that mega-commercial conglomerates also know everything about us.

I have similar experiences all the time.
Recently I went to Williams Sonoma website to look into buying a particular pot. Within the hour I got an email from them urging me to return to their website and purchase it. All I did was go to the site. How did they know my email?
It's getting very creepy online.

In your browser settings, you can edit your privacy settings to allow cookies, but delete all cookies every time you close your browser. Assuming you don't leave your browser open all the time, this will stop you from getting targeted advertising. As for the email, if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the email you should see a tiny unsubscribe link and that should stop you from getting any more emails.

Were you logged into your Google account?
That's why I try not to use my Chrome browser, it collects information.
