My daughter wants to take a course in clothing design. Does anyone know anywhere in new jersey or new York where she can take such a course?

Is she serious abut a career? There are schools in New York that are specifically for fashion like FIT and Parsons.
If she just wants to stick her toes in the water, community colleges might offer a course or FIT or Parsons might offer non degree courses.

Then she should pursue a degree from FIT or Parsons.
Not only will she learn the "business" including the technical as well as creative elements, but she would make invaluable contacts in terms of networking.
I would suggest getting a catalogue and going on-line to find out their requirements for admission.
Does she watch Project Runway? I love that show although I can hardly sew a hem :-)
