My 12 year old ds is very small for his age, as he grows soo slowly. He watches his sisters get new clothing, as they outgrow theirs. I bought him his current suit last August. It still fits him. He really , really has been wanting a new suit for a while. I didn't buy it for Pesach, since his still fits. He so much wants it for Shavuos. What do you think? Thanx.

if you have the money for it and it won't affect the rest of your budget, it's not unreasonable.

Especially if it's a different style

I was just thinking about this the other day, since we have a family simcha coming up. For a girl, even if all their clothes fit them and they have plenty b"H, there could always be something to buy - you just buy a different color or style or whatever. But for boys, assuming your boys are the black-pants-and-white-shirt type, well, what's the point in buying something new? That's what I often think.
Suits are expensive. Does he wear ties? I would buy a tie or new kipa or belt. That's just cheaper, but he'll still have the feeling that you invested in something nice and new for him.
