Is there a good "one rise" challah recipe?

My bread maker broke so my entire day revolved around my challah baking schedule. I couldn't go anywhere between the mix, rise, kneed, braid, rise, bake cycles. It took too long - I don't want to be tied to the kitchen. However, I like the idea of making challah by hand, not machine so I'd like to find a challah recipe that perhaps only needs to rise once - does that exist?
