I've never had an ear infection in my life. Now, at age 50 it showed up. Oooh myyyy goodness! ! ! ! Is that a looot of pain. Can't sleep, swallow or burp (excuse me for the language) because of the strong pain. I already cried, took motrin, lay with head elevated. Anyone knows what gives instant and total relief?
I now feel on my own self why kids with fluid in the ear lip read, speak loud, make silly decisions and so on.

If you already tried Motrin, and it's been a few hrs, you can try taking some Tylenol too. It should help.
I've had several bad ear infections as an adult and it sucks!! Not fun. Hope u feel better soon.

I've had some really painful ear infections in the last few years. Even antibiotics didn't help enough. I ended up needing a prescription nasal spray as well.
You can try pinching your nose closed and blowing. That might relieve some of the pressure.
