How can you afford to have a summer home if you can't afford food?

Many people work in day camps and get their bungalow for free, or she can be staying by someone else.

WIC is for lower-middle class and below. You don't need to be below the poverty line or completely destitute to qualify for WIC.

Do they have cholov yisroel milk and cheese there?
We happen to be staying with someone but I know a bunch of people who are not rich but going to the mountains ends up better than staying in the city. City camps are expensive, it takes more to keep kids occupied, and you end up running the air conditioner all day.

It's so nice of you to be so judgmental. You can be making a decent middle class salary and still qualify for WIC.
It's different than food stamps.

Correct. But even if not, that post was so self righteous and judgmental. And wrong.
She literally made up out of a hat that OP owns a summer home!
There are so many ways she can be in the catskills without having a home there...too numerous to list.

I did not ask the initial question but I don't think it's judgemental. I wondered too how a person who qualifies for public assistance can afford two places rent at once. Now I know.im currently paying a mortgage and rent in Niagara Falls and it's brutal.

Wic is very different than other forms of public assistance. It is not the same as food stamps. Many many middle class people qualify for public assistance.

Also, not everyone who goes to the catskills is paying double rent. Some people might be going as staff and making money. Some people might be being guests in other relatives homes the half they are not using it. Some people rent out their home in Brooklyn.
It's not the point. More the point is why do people have to automatically assume the worst of anyone taking anything from the government? Especially if they can get it legitimately.
