Does anyone have advice on bringing my candlesticks with me? We are making a long distance move. I wanted to bring my candle sticks in my carry on luggage because I don't think I will trust TSA with them in my checked bags. I also don't trust the movers with them. Has anyone done this? I don't want to get in trouble with security for bringing two big hunks of metal in my carry on. Thanks!

I took candlesticks for a kalla once wrapped in my winter shabbos coat (wool). They opened my bag but didn't make a problem. I dont really remember if they were okay or made me wait. How about bubble wrap and then in a blanket/fur in your regular case?

When I made aliyah, my carry-on was the family silver- it was a small rolling suitcase that had all the bechers, Judaica, jewelry, and candlesticks. I put a lock on the suitcase, not that that would necessarily stop anyone. When the suitcase was in the compartment, I was constantly checking on it.
TSA didn't give me any problems. They scanned it, and that was it.
