My 18mo DD had a lot of issues from when she was born. At 3 months she started having breath holding spells. When she got suddenly scared or upset she cried until she turned blue and stopped breathing for a minute. Many months and doctors later, she was diagnosed with severe reflux that caused inflammation in her throat and lungs, which caused asthma and not breathing properly, in combination with regular colds and congestion she didn't have enough oxygen when upset and that's why the breath holding spells. She also had lots of ear infections.
Now she's on meds for asthma and reflux. Still congested all the time. Breath holding spells continued up until the beginning of the summer, so far so good bh she hasn't had any more.
But now I realized she never sticks out her tongue. I tried getting her to copy me sticking out my tongue and she looked at me like I was doing something amazing lol.
So my questions are, 1) is it possible that tongue tie is to blame for some of her issues, the congestion, reflux etc. 2) should I pursue the tongue tie issue? I asked my ped and she waved it off like it's nonsense, she refused to even check. Is it worth checking if ped thinks it's not necessary?
Advice, opinions, and info for tongue tie specialists welcome. Thank you!

Definitely related, though that does not mean that if you take care of her tongue tie all the other issues will disappear. But it certainly can help. Do you for sure that she has a tongue tie? Did she nurse? how did that go?

Thanks. I don't like it either but this ped has been very supportive of all her other issues, even telling me I could come in to her without insurance when my insurance was canceled by mistake one month.

Yes she nursed ok for awhile, I also pumped because I was working. She self weaned at around 9 months she preferred the bottle. I think laying down to nurse hurt her ear infections so I let her wean.
If she was able to nurse does that mean she doesn't have tongue tie?
