There is also a technique to produce the crispy crust in a home oven which involves hot water in the oven to create some steam. It's been awhile but I can try to find my recipe.
It's not just the ingredients but the baking in this manner that creates the best results.

I thought that I posted the recipe yesterday. what happened to it? ok I guess I might not have pressed submit. I found one from the "all recipes" website. search french baguette. and it had almost a thousand reviews. it sounded yum. some posters even gave ideas how to make it crispy onthe outside. I think I will try it. when I get a chance.
