Today I looked at my hair conditioner and saw that it contains gelatin. My husband and I couldn't figure out if this is something we need to worry about-- it's not food, right?
If there are different opinions on this, we will ask our rabbi, but we don't want to bother him if it's an obvious answer.
Thanks in advance!

Hair conditioner does not need a hechscher.
Please don't drink it!

Although we are not allowed to benefit in any way from Basar B'Chalav, there is no problem in benefiting from Treif. It is forbidden to CONSUME gelatin, but there is no problem using it on your hair, clothing, etc.
There are some that are careful not to use outright treif in dish soaps or lipstick for example, but an equal number of opinions that are lenient with this as well, since it is not fit as food for man or beast.
