I need to be in Manhattan in Midtown tomorrow midday for an appointment and looking for something fun for kids to do but don't want to pay too much. Any suggestions please.

Sony has a very interesting place at Madison & 54. Interactive fun things to do for that age. It is free.

Ripley's believe it or not museum. I think there is a Groupon for it now for a very good price. We went to the one in Atlantic city and my kids loved it.

Some of the fun playgrounds are interesting enough even for older kids. As suggested above, look on MommyPoppins, it is very descriptive and includes pictures to give you a better idea of what to expect.
