No, girls and boys are both off tomorrow. Boys' school even has a half day today which is ridiculous IMO.

Nope.

I think it's because they normally give an extra day off for Erev Succos, which is on Sunday this year, and they never have school on Sunday. So they moved that up to Friday.

My kids are off. I think it's because a lot of ppl (and teachers) are travelling and leaving before shabbos.

Have to say I'm a bit jealous of all of you who will have your children in school tomorrow. I usually anticipate school maybe being closed erev yom tov but since Friday is not erev yom tov I just assumed they would be in school until my kids informed me otherwise this morning.

Thank goodness, yes. Other times when erev Y"T fell out on Sunday they have had off on Friday. This time they, thankfully, have school. I hate the excuse of they usually have off erev y"t. If Friday is not erev y"t then they should not be giving off from school an extra day. There are already so many days off, especially this time of year, that an extra one is just not necessary. If teachers want to go away for Y"T they have the whole Sunday to travel, just like the rest of the working world.

My kids in BY do not. My kid in MO preschool does. The day off is completely insane and absurd.
