I'd like to transfer my phone to VOIP or any other of the sort- the only way to do this is if I have quick interntet.
the only internet we are allowing into our house is kosher filtered- but the koshernet doesn't have any DSL services in our area, and jnet is currently not offering DSL to new customers. yeshivanet is too limited any other ideas of what I can do?

Exchange Telecom has DSL with optional filtering. Or you can get Verizon DSL and filter with Filternet.

but is this type of filtering customizable and comparable to the kosher filtering systems?

Actually it is a kosher filtering system. My father has it at work, for all his employees.
