I will have 2 sisters wedding and an uncle in the next few weeks and am looking for a dress. My budget is tight so I want a bought dress for less. We had a financial crises up until this week and now I have funds to go and buy a dress. But the first wedding will be in a month. Please help me find a dress. I want a dark color and possibly from Macy's because I have their credit card so I won't have to pay them right now. I am a very undecided shopper and am trying to figure out which dress can be altered to be tznua. Please help, thanks.

First off, Mazal Tov!

If you are okay with the shell look, I find that the dresses which aren't strapless look better with a shell than strapless ones. I found a really nice one on Amazon for less than $100.

Hatzlacha!

Please post some links or pictures so I will have an idea of what dresses you refer on amazon. I searched there but have no clue how to get them to be tznua. I don't like the shell only look but might add sheer sleeves so it's attached. Then a shell. But prefer jewel closed necklines so shell is only at sleeves. Possible?

Are u on facebook? If you are there is a closed group called Tznius Gown Swap...people sell or rent their gowns they don't plan on using anymore. All the gowns posted are supposed to have sleeves. You can ask to join the group and post what you are looking for.

amazon has many. type in "long sleeve gown" and your size and there will be many. check the return policy before you buy anything to make sure you can return it if you are unhappy. you may also be better off renting a dress from rent the runway, I put in the link with the sleeves option https://www.renttherunway.com/.....ended

Surprisingly, David's Bridal has very well priced pieces on clearance that can be returned.

I hope you don't mean you buy it, wear it to a simcha and then return it.

Sounds like she means that often, when you buy on clerance, you can't return, even if it's because it doesn't fit right, but they allow it.

Correct.
Buy it, try it on with a shell, return it if it doesn't fit right.
Check it out yourself, I haven't done it.

I just came on here to post the almost the same thing! My sister is getting married and I'm looking for a gown. Difference is a- I'm also looking for my two daughters, want to be the same color as mine. B- I hate shopping, and have very little free time c- the wedding is in Israel (im currently in Brooklyn) so gmachs won't let me have it for the two and half weeks we'll be there.
I'll probably go to David's bridal tomorrow..
Mommy3b2c, and twogees, im probably about a 4 if your offer is good for me as well..

Thanks to all kind suggestions. I would rather buy online because of no spare time and possibly cheaper than in stores.
Twogeez and mommy3b2c thanks but I'd rather not out myself by taking my dress. You might know me.
I have an ideal dress. Black. Maybe another color beneath. Lace, chiffon, beading, but not too mchitenista'dig. I'm still young. I want a dress were the neck comes up jewel style so shell won't finish off neckline. Thank you so much.
