It's a method for teaching children certain tasks by giving lots of postive reinforement, breaking everything down in small steps, and monitoring it for progress.

ABA is very individualized so we can't really do that - tell you exactly what it is and what to expect. It really looks very different in different circumstances.
I do recall some very good descriptions and examples in a previous thread on this topic, did you try doing a search here?

Thank you.
My son was diagnosed with ASD today (hooray! now insurance will cover services!) and was recommended for ABA to help with social skills and prevent meltdowns. I'm trying to find out more info.
I will do a search now; I did not think of that.
