My child has a thyroglossal cyst in his neck. Has anyone else had any experience with this? Did they need surgery to remove it?

My daughter did. It kept on getting bigger, and she had it removed when she was 2 1/2. The surgery was pretty straight forward, and she went home the same day. She was very out of sorts from the anesthesia, but was back to herself within a couple of days.
