I work full time and have three kids, the oldest is 4. I work for a frum place so and im off chol hamoed but not legal holidays. I never have a day off just to break the routine and it was getting really hard. today I send kids off to preschool and babysitter and hopped right back to bed amd am really really enjoying the peace and quiet. I kinda feel like a kid playing hookey from school. anyone else ever do this - mental health day?

Yes! And it is SO important.
I don't do it as often as I should but when I do get those days it is really just awesome.

And vital to your mental and physical well being.

Agreed! Your mind and body told you that you were exhausted. We mess ourselves up when we don't listen to what our mind and body are trying to tell us. Having 'off' for chol hamoed means you don't ever actually have any vacation time to relax, unwind, and recharge your batteries. Every person needs that.

I make myself use my legal holidays for this. I try to do the bare minimum of cooking/cleaning those days and really do things I enjoy.
