Any advice? My tenant can hear between the walls/doors every word we are saying and we hear them. Should I get a sound machine - any recommendations? Hire a handyman to soundproof around the doors? HELP!

If been going to a therapist for a while. Thought there was a fan plugged in the one outlet in waiting area. Unplugged it and charged my phone. Could hear everything in the room nextdoor. Realized my mistake... Never again touched the whine noise machine.
It's also cheaper than a handyman

Just never say anything you don't want them to hear....
(I lived in such a place for 6 months)
Or never get to know the neighbors so you don't care what they hear. Or become their best friends so that you trust them so much you don't mind what they hear.
I know, I'm not being very helpful.

I'm always self conscious about - ahem - bedroom noise
I treat it as worse case scenario but I'm never sure how much they can hear.
Super awkward.

Soundproof for sure. And use a white noise machine in the interim.

It might help to get a cheap draft stopper by the door. Or just go for the white noise machine

If you're the owner, and you plan on long term tenants, invest in soundproofing.

This thread is giving me PTSD fro the time we had tenants who were having relations and we could hear them finishing up as if they were in the room with us. It was awful.

I hear my downstairs neighbors, every cough, every conversation. I also hear the people who live next door. I'm attached on both sides, so can hear a lot. I wish there's a way to block out all the sound. I do not like sound machines at all. I do not have carpet for allergy reasons.
Is there a way to soundproof , and who is known to do good work? In Brooklyn
