do all these accidental huggers have huge thumbs? eyesight problems?

I've done it. (When I catch it I undo the hug).
And I do have eyesight problems. And oddly shaped thumbs.
Hmmmm.πŸ€”

When I'm idly scrolling down threads, I can sometimes put some extra pressure on my very sensitive trackpad and accidentally hug posters (that sounds creepy). I correct them if I notice it, but I'm sure I've missed some unintentional hugs I've given.

Hug feature should be just on the first post. Then if someone needs a hug they can start their own thread.

It is always possible that the occasinal hug is accidental.

While it is possible that an occasional hug here and there is accidental there are times I see 6 hugs on an unpopular opinion ..... I highly doubt that they are all mishaps

I know that a dislike button would be too insulting but what about a disagree button? it would save a lot of time from responding in text to each thing we don't agree with.

What's the difference between the two? Both mean 'I don't like what was written on the post'.

On the hugs side of things, I've recently seen many that seem to say 'I'm jealous of you'. There seems to be at least one poster who hugs when others say that they spent a lot of money on a certain item etc. I'm honestly not sure why.

Seriously why does it matter? Just ignore the hug and like counts. I never even knew people "hugged" if they didn't like the post.

I know I'm in the minority, but I think a dislike button is so much more valuable than the hugs button.

maybe we can solve the issue if it listed the huggers on each post. this way if you wanted to give a real hug you wouldn't be embarrassed to let the person know it was you who sent it.
no more anonymous hugging!

I just noticed (while hugging half the people in this thread because hug thread! πŸ€—) that there are two hearts next to the hug button. How many hugs does it take to fill up both hearts? Hug me and let's find out!

As for passive aggressive hugs, sometimes it's obvious that it's a mistake, or it could have been well-intentioned. And when it's obviously passive aggressive, I choose not to get insulted and take it personally. Instead I choose to feel sorry for this person, whoever they are, who felt so low today that they had to diss me to make themselves feel better. And I hope it did make them feel a little better. And I hope they find more fulfilling ways of boosting their self esteem in the future.

Until there's a dislike/disagree button, people will keep using the hug button to show that.

I do it and I would do it even if it showed the name.

I really don't think it's such a big deal. Honestly, you shouldn't be on the internet if you're that sensitive.

Go ahead and do it but it's rude and immature. As are you. Go ahead and hug meπŸ˜€

I like the hug button. I use it generously to support amothers in pain.

People who hug my posts obviously LOVE what I posted.

Obviously.

Feel free to show how much you love this one!
