"This flyer was being circulated at the University of Illinois at Chicago. When I walked through an "occupy" protest in Boston a few years ago, I noticed many posters that were plainly anti-Semitic; where far-left protesters were employing age old anti-Semitic canards to blame Jews for their economic woes, just as anti-Semites have done throughout the centuries. This flyer shows how pervasive anti-Semitism is among the Regressive Left in America. It also demonstrates how the far-left has helped make college campuses in America "hate spaces" for Jews." Comment from picture.

Its ironic that these flyers are coming from the progressive liberal left but anyone who has been on a college campus in the past eight years would know that this is very common attitude that the progressive liberal left has about Jews. Is this what Nazi Germany was like when Hitler, who spoke about Jew Privilege and the necessity to get rid of it, came into power? Do you think that history can repeat itself and we can go through another holocaust again?

That happens to be your claim, is there any concrete evidence to show they are coming from the liberal left?

It's coming from extremists. Both the extreme left and the extreme right harbor rabid anti Semites. On the extreme right you have NeoNazi sites that threaten and harass Jewish journalists and traffic in the Jews-control-the-world theories from the Protocol of the Elders of Zion.

It may seem amazing how similar the extreme left and the extreme right look -- but they are really two sides of the same coin.

Even if they are, so what? There are racists in both parties.

Quote:
The Quinnipiac University survey, conducted March 2-6, found a yawning difference between Republicans and Democrats on whether they considered “prejudice against Jewish people in the United States today … a very serious problem.” Over half of self-identified Democrats (51%) agreed that it was indeed “very serious,” while less than one in five (18%) Republican respondents described it that way.

A total of 87% of Democrats said that they considered the problem either “very” or “somewhat” serious. By contrast, only 53% of Republicans agreed—a 34-point gap.

Overall, 35% of the 1,283 respondents considered such prejudice “very serious,” while an additional 35% described it as “somewhat serious.”

Nearly half of Republican respondents (45%) said anti-Semitism was either “not so serious” a problem (30%) or “not at all” a problem (15%). By contrast, only 8% of Democrats said it was “not so serious,” and a mere 3% said chose the “not at all” option.

This lovely Valentine's Day card was crafted by a Republican, and given out at a campus Republican party (NOT by the campus organization itself):

Let's address despicable acts when we see them, not paint them as a liberal or conservative phenomenon.

Of course, Esav soneh l'Yaakov -- adapted for every era. If we're not allegedly controlling the wealth, we're surely deconsecrating communion wafers.

The irony of this particular flyer, though, is that it doesn't require the reader to believe that Jews are doing something awful. It only requires the reader to buy into the ideology that differences in outcomes are irrefutable evidence of injustice in process.

Show the same statistics to an average Japanese or Korean, and he will say, "What are those Jews doing that makes them so successful? We should study them and learn how they accomplished this!" *

It would be great if universities could discuss topics like cultural legacies and cultural adaptation; how people can preserve their heritage in a multi-cultural society while also thinking critically about how various cultural legacies might be holding them back. That might be the first step toward actually eliminating injustice.

Of course, we see how well that type of discussion went over at Middlebury College. Or, rather, didn't go at all.

* This example isn't intended to deny the existence of Asian anti-Semitism, which has a different history than the anti-Semitism in the West and is an odd mix of admiration, generalized xenophobia, and imported anti-Jewish sentiments.
