Is it proper to invite your DS's teachers and Rabbi's to the Bar Mitzvah taking place on Shabbos if you know they can't come (don't live in same neighborhood)? Do you invite whole family? If it makes a difference if they were to decide to come I have no where to put them.

I would not invite anyone who doesn't live locally who you can't offer to host for shabbos

As a teacher, I appreciate receiving invitations to students' simchas, and I don't attend. I think many other teachers would feel the same way. Most teachers don't have time to go around to everyone's simchas, and certainly if it's a Shabbos invitation not coupled with an offer to host, I think it's clear that it's a courtesy invitation. Though maybe ask someone who more regularly teaches kids of that age, I've only had a handful of that age and only a few years.
