My new sheitel did not arrive in time for Pesach. :-( It is supposed to come during chol hamoed. Can I cut it during chol hamoed? if not can I do it during sefira? thank you!

I do not wear a sheitel, but I know people who consider a sheitel a garment, and will not wear a new sheitel during sefirah in the same way they wouldn't wear a new garment. I think that would be the issue, rather than the cutting.

No new clothes during sefirah? I thought that was not allowed during the three weeks only? Sefirah too?

Yep, no new clothes during sefira. We do wear new clothes for Shabbos though so sometimes wear a new item of clothing for Shabbos first so we can wear it in the week.
You should probably ask your LOR about the sheitel.

New clothes are permitted on yomtov. Cutting it I'd ask about.

If I remember correctly, when I looked into this last year I was told it was ok to get a wig cut during sefira because it's like a garment.

a sheital macher is not supposed to work during chol hamoed. during sefirah it's fine; it've seen women getting new sheitals even during the year of shiva.

Just asked dh, he said it's fine. Like buying a skirt and getting it hemmed.
