So it's not good to say it at night then? RivkaA did you switch to saying it during the day and count 40 day days?

Also what does it mean when the animals say it, what time is that?

Rabbi Kaniyevsky said in a recent interview that he never saw in the gemara that perek shira & such things are sugulas for anything.
He said when you daven hashem listens!
He believes in regular tefillos!

Have any of you said it for 40 days and had a yeshua?

I said it for 40 days and it really helped me to deal with certain issues such as my kids fighting and me realising that I don't have to always say yes to people who want things from me.
I also decided that even though I have completed my 40 days I still want to say it a couple of times a week and I feel the benefit of it.

we really needed a yeshua for parnassa, after reading this post, I started saying it for 40 days consecutively. it was very difficult but did it.
I have an online store and it has been out there for months, I got my first sale a few days after the 40th day.
my husband's company got an investment which means that his company wont close. it was in danger of closing.
and this week, I have two job interviews.

I am still saying it because its a beautiful thing to say.

tefillot are never lost but somehow I can identify with a donkey.

Wow, amother. Thanks for that. I also want to start saying it for parnossa.

I'm not sure I understood what you said about identifying with a donkey though.

My friend got engaged on her 40th day of saying it.

I got engaged when I said it (not sure what day, but a while through)

I started again recently and am now expecting. I have to say it again.

I have a question actually, do you break it into days or say the whole thing every day?

I like what the donkey says.

it takes about 15 minutes and I've been reading the whole thing through. its a bit tough because of time constraints, but I make it a priority.

good luck!! and enjoy it.

I have been saying Perek Shirah but I do have some questions, I would love some feedback:

1. why 84 animals? why not more or less?
2. who wrote Perek Shirah?
3. why these specific animals, why these specific animals with their specific song?
4. why isnt the spider included- or other animals?

Thank you!!!

Perek Shirah is attributed to King David.
The spider is not included in either of the versions that I have available. (The nearest is the scorpion.)
There are only 52 animals and birds etc mentioned, the other 32 are plants or other natural (or spiritual) phenomena.
I presume that the animals that do appear are representative of all creatures.
