cute and weird at the same time ... what to put in there that is NOT wasted ... you certainly don't want some candy rotting in there ... can you did in at a party doesn't seem so ...
how about beads of some sort ...
does it seal well - can you put in colored water & oil blend ...

I don't think I can put liquids in it. Curled ribbon is a good idea- maybe different colors? That would make it much less formal though- more like a nosh bowl for a birthday party. I can try Michaels- maybe they have that fake wheat. three strands per section for a few of the sections shouldn't be too bad, and then I can do different colored beans for the others.
