Chelmsford is a town about 45 minutes from Boston. So I know that's an option but I really want a more rural area and with cheaper housing.
TIA

According to Google maps thats about 75 minutes away. It's something I would look into. Do you know the community? How big is it? What type of people live there? Are there any schools?

I think the kids all go to school in Boston. It's a newer community that's growing.

Worcester is probably the closest city with a daily minyan and somewhat established community, though it's still 45 minutes away and not exactly rural. Your other options are probably Sharon and Malden, or Manchester, NH if you're okay with the local Chabad as the only game in town and not much else in terms of Jewish infrastructure.

There is a Chabad next door to Chelmsford, in Westford Massachusetts. Call Rabbi Zalman Gurkow at Chabad of Nashoba Valley.

If she's looking for schools Manchester or Nashoba valley aren't good choices. Malden has bussing to schools in Boston. Worcester has a school.
