Junior = 33" inches
Twin = 39" inches
Antique = 48" inches
Full = 54"
Queen = 60" inches
King = 72" inches

The 48" bed is 6" inches smaller than a full size and 9" wider than what you would call a single. It's kind of a custom size that some people use if they'd like wider beds but their rooms do not have enough space for 2 full size beds. (And some people buy this size even if they do have space for bigger if they plan on moving since many bedrooms aren't big enough for 2 big beds).

Nope. If you want fitted bed sheets you'll need to purchase them at the jewish stores. If you use flat sheets you can buy standard full size ones at stores like target. Some people purchase standard full size fitted sheets at stores like target and are ok with the sheets sagging a big.

Yes. Smile It was designed to fix the issue of fitting 2 beds in one master bedroom but each bed being wide enough to be comfortable with one's spouse.

A number of regular mattress stores have 48" beds now in the tri-state area. They bring in what sells. Sleepy's is one such store. And even the frum stores like Sleeptight carry all the brand name mattresses in that size.

It's called antique because I think it once was a normal size even in the secular world.

Many non-Jewish mattress stores will sell this size as a special order, even out of tri-state area. You can call and ask.
