I love stuffed cabbage but have not made it in forever because I find separating the cabbage leaves successfully to be an impossible task. I've tried both steaming and freezing. I still just can't seem to do it right. I'm not looking for tips on how to get the leaves. I'm looking for alternative greens to wrap with that don't require separation. Wondering if anyone has ever used chard, kale, collards or similar with tasty and attractive results. And if so, what, if anything, do I need to change in the cooking process? Thanks!!!

My husband makes a really awesome concoction, using nori ( a type of seaweed) , because I get nauseous from the smell of cabbage boiling. I also have ptsd from my grandmother's rickety bungalow as a child, when she was always making cabbage soup.

Thanks. Going to give it a try.
I actually found a whole bunch of recipes... just took me a long time cause I kept googling things like "how to make stuffed cabbage using other kinds of leafy greens" instead of "stuffed chard" lol!

We make stuffed grape leaves all the time.
It shouldn't be much different than that.

Would napa cabbage work? it also has length, which would make it easier to roll. don't know if the inner leaves of a napa cabbage will be like regular cabbage also but the outer leaves look easy to handle.
