I have a vicks, but what do you mean 12 hours... do they turn off after some time?

Physicians no longer recommend using hot vaporizers, as they actually breed more germs and cause more harm. Use a cold air humidifier. If you need it for a parched throat, sinus, etc., it helps just as much!
