You need to let the choc defrost a bit Hannah.

Really? I didn't find it icy at all. Although parts of the chocolate had solidfied a little into chunks but I found that even yummier.

It's one of our favorite (signature) desserts, and I was so happy to share the recipe with you all...it takes time to make, and the ingredients cost gelt.

I'm sorry, Hannah.

I wouldn't call brownies or apple pie my signature desserts, b/c they're very common. I only call something that if most ppl don't make it.

We don't eat dessert, generally.

Okay now that I'm in process making this pie I found one possible issue.

Depending on whether you make your own crust or if you use the pre-made that will make a big difference. I noticed Hannah said she didn't have enough room for all the fluff. I also noticed that the pie cm gave me (thanks again!) was in a bigger pan than a ready-made pie crust is. I'm not sure why that would make a difference with the consistency of the chocolate layer but I discovered this upon making my filling when I had more chocolate than could fill the pie. I bet if I made a little more filling I could fill two of these ready made pie crusts.

I made the chocolate layer this afternoon. planning to do the marshmallow tom iyH. I used a bought pie crust and do have some space left on the top (about half an inch).
will report back here bli neder after shabbos on how it was received.

thanks for the great and easy recipe, cm. if this works out well I plan on making it for mil's chanuka party.

There's definitely 1/2 inch but I think the one cm gave me (correct me if I'm wrong, cm) was a 10" pan and there you can definitely fit in a full jar. I don't think I'll be able to fit a full jar in mine. Did you have extra filling left over, Squash? I used 1 1/2 c. of the vanilla enriched rice dream and a little more than a 10oz bag of the chocolate chips.

why'd you use so much? iirc cm said to use 1 1/2 cups soy milk and 2 cups choco chips. I didn't have any choco mix left over.

It's true I make my own crust, but I didn't always do that. and I used this recipe.

perhaps we had more chocolate to lick from the pot.

I measured out 2 cups of chips and it ended up being a little more than a 10 oz. bag. CM says 1 1/2 c. rice dream. I also used 1 1/2 c. rice milk. So where did I use "so much"?

oh sorry. I thought 10 oz sounded like a lot. I had two opened bags that I combined to get 2 cups so I didn't realize.

dunno. it all fit into my crust and there's some space left over.
