Yes, I need it for my fax gemach.
Also our phone is non-electric so it works when the electricity goes out.

We have a landline.
DH and I are in our late 30s. I didn't get a cell phone until after I graduated from college. While my cell phone is now a constant companion, I use it mostly for texting/WhatsApp, the internet and as a camera. I strongly dislike using it to have more than a quick conversation if necessary when I'm not home. If I know I'll be on hold for a while or I want to have a nice long chat with someone then I'll definitely use the landline. My kids use the landline to call their grandparents and friends, although lately my toddler has taken to wanting to use my phone to video chat with various relatives.
