Are there any nicknames for Mordechai besides Mottel or Motty? I feel obligated to pass on the name but don't love it.

Oy, I'm not liking any of these too much. (Though I do appreciate the responses). Can I just call him Chai? Would that be super weird?

It would be really cool. If I have a mordechai, I think I may just nickname him Chai, I think its that cool.
Then again, if I would have a mordechai Yochai, would that make it Chai Chai?

I know someone whose son is mordechai and they call him moby. I'm not sure if this is something you would go for but I figured I'd just put it out there

Momo is common. But more for Moshe, I think.

A kid named Dudu? Why don't they just tape a "kick me" sign to his back?

Okay, I confess that that was me, posting as amother, but I can't imagine that, in the US at least, anybody would want to call their kid Dudu, no matter what perfectly nice name it's a nickname for. What else do people use -- Poopoo or Peepee for Pnina?
Nicknames can be cruel!
