My husband's birthday is on Friday. My husband gives me gifts pretty often, but for the past few years I haven't given him too many gifts. He's just so hard to give gifts to. I have no idea what he'd want. I'd really like to find something nice to give him.

He's very handy and likes buying tools, but I have no idea which ones to get him. He does a lot of research before he buys something. I don't know enough about tools to know what he would like.

He also likes buying seforim. Again, I'd have no idea what to get for him.

I have given him a few gifts in the past couple of years. He was having a hard time finding good food to eat in college, so bought him a cool lunch bag to take to school and stocked the freezer with a bunch of homemade frozen meals that he could take each day (That was actually really fun to make and give him. A note in the lunch bag directed him to the freezer, I wrapped each lunch in bows and decorated the freezer). I also bought him a new talis bag, because his was ripping. We are forever smashing mugs, so I've gotten him a couple of those.

Creative and thoughtful ladies: what are recent gifts you've given your husband? Any good ideas for me?

Buy him something he doesn't need. That way, you cant mess up Smile
Maybe a cool toolbox? Gift card to a a seforim store?
Is he into anything else? Wine? Craft beers? Coffee? Any form of cooking?

I've thought of a gift card, but its so... boring.

He's waaaaay past a tool box. He has a workshop in the basement.

He isn't into cooking really, but does love a good coffee! What coffee gift could I give him?

This made me smile. I would cry if someone gave me a vacuum cleaner as a gift! It's like that old story of a guy who got his wife a broom for her birthday and had to sleep on the couch the next couple of nights...

He doesn't wear a jacket. Usually a sweater or sweatshirt. I could always buy him clothing, but again that seems so boring.

A Nespresso machine?

I had a nice photo printed on a large canvas and hung it in our room as a gift once. Is he the type to appreciate that?

Some sort of Bluetooth speaker if he's into music.

I love that stuff, but it seems more like a gift for me than for him. Anything I'd want to buy for the house feels kind of like self-gifting. He'd appreciate it, but I'd appreciate it more.

If you buy one, get one that works with the original line, not virtuoline. The original no longer has a patent, so you can buy affordable capsules. The virtuo is still patented and you can only buy Nespresso brand capsules, which are expensive.

A Nespresso machine is great. Great coffee, Pods are expensive but cheaper then buying a brewed coffee.

Ive said this before.. A great pillow. I spent over $100 on a pillow as a gift for DH and he really appreciates it every night. I have given a gift certificate for 2 shirts to a custom clothier. That was a really gifty way to give clothing.
Nice PJ's. Like nice expensive ones. That are silky and soft (those were more for me then for him!)
I would stay away from tools as I would most likely get it wrong but maybe great working gloves and goggles?

I agree DVMOM, no vacuum cleaners!

Happy Birthday to your DH.. to many happy healthy years together.

My husband is literally the same. Loves tools and seforim and I have no idea which to buy. Also, if he want something, he buys it himself. So I've started doing experiences instead. For his last birthday, I arranged a day in the city for him. Planned an activity, a place to eat, hired the babysitter etc and left him a nice poem with the plans. It was really nice

This. Did this for DH one year. Each month he got different beans. Was fun and he got a present every month.

OP, may I ask what lunch bag you gave him? DH is starting school soon and I would love to gift him with a bag for his laptop, papers, and lunch...

The best gift I got DH was a coffee machine. Good luck!
